Welcome to the Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Residency Program of Cooper University Hospital and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. On behalf of the Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, we congratulate you on choosing our field as your career path!
Our training program was accredited by the ACGME in 2018 and is designed to provide exceptional and well-rounded clinical and surgical training, within an environment of collegiality and intellectual curiosity. Our faculty members are committed to creating and maintaining this environment, and ultimately to train outstanding clinician/surgeons, who are capable of a further career in academic medicine or private practice, or who desire further subspecialty-focused fellowship training.
We have two training sites. The Cooper University Hospital campus is located in Camden, NJ, and includes the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, the Cooper Research Laboratory, and the Coriel Research Institute. Cooper also has a second hub based in Voorhees, NJ, where residents will receive training at the Voorhees Surgery Center and at the Voorhees Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery office. The other training site is at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ, where residents will train with the community-based Advanced ENT group practice. These two training sites will provide the resident with a high-volume, diverse and varied complexity patient care experience.
As part of Cooper’s mission “to educate”, our aim is to inspire the next generation of outstanding Otolaryngologists. We pride ourselves on providing mentorship, guidance and support to our residents’ scholarly ideas and projects. To this end, Cooper has both basic science and translational research facilities, as well as opportunities for clinical research, including projects focusing on quality and safety.
New Jersey is a diverse and attractive place to live, whether you are single or have a family. There are a wide array of excellent restaurants, recreational activities, and very strong public school systems. We are located across the bridge from Philadelphia, and in close proximity to New York City, and Washington DC. The Poconos and the Jersey Shore are a short drive away for perfect weekend getaway spots.
We thank you for your interest in our program and will hopefully get to meet you soon.
