Why am I passionate about Family Medicine?

Family medicine is an amazing specialty that can improve the health of patients, their families, and entire communities. The training to become a family medicine physician allows us to take care of any patient that looks for assistance. Because we take care of patients from cradle to grave, we are well poised to advocate for the needs of our patients and their communities. The breadth and flexibility of family medicine allows me to provide true continuity of care for my patients as they grow older and enter the different stages of their life. We coordinate the care for our patients and serve as their liaison to the healthcare system to ensure they receive evidence-based care, and understand and follow their treatment plans. The relationship and trust that is built is humbling and motivates me to continually improve myself and my practice of medicine.
