Jessica Bryson, PA-C, received her undergraduate degree in biology from Stockton University in Pomona, New Jersey, and her master’s degree in Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University in Pennsylvania. In the outpatient clinic, she cares for patients suffering from stroke and general neurologic conditions. Working closely with Dr. Syrow, she also has a special interest in headaches and migraines, and is integral to Group Visits through the Cooper Advanced Care Center, where she helps treat patients suffering from migraines.

About Me

Anastasia Bullock, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology within Cooper University Healthcare System since 2017. Dr. Bullock provides patient care, as well as coordinates and supervises graduate students on the Behavioral Medicine consultation-liaison service. She also holds a faculty position within Cooper Medical School at Rowan University, teaching medical students on rotation with the Behavioral Medicine team.

Dr. Bullock is actively engaged in research within health psychology, including quality indicators of consultation-liaison psychology, trauma, and weight and eating with articles in peer reviewed publications. She is a member of the Association for Psychologists in Academic Health Centers, Society of Behavioral Medicine, and American Psychological Association.

About Me

Evren Burakgazi-Dalkilic, MD, received her medical degree from Istanbul University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in neurology at George Washington University School of Medicine where she was recognized as Resident of the Year. After completing a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Burakgazi-Dalkilic was co-director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and an assistant professor of neurology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center – MCV Campus in Richmond, Virginia, before coming to Cooper.

Dr. Burakgazi-Dalkilic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, pre-surgical evaluation, and intracranial epilepsy moni­toring. Special interests include the role of hormones in epilepsy, cardiac aspects of status epilepticus and refractory epilepsy, pharmacokinetics of antiepileptic drugs and their interactions with other drugs.

Dr. Burakgazi-Dalkilic has been principal investigator or sub-investigator on a number of external grants and is a contributor to numer­ous journals and abstracts. She is also a member of several scientific, honorary, and professional societies: American Academy of Neurology, American Epilepsy Society, and American Clinical and Neurophysiology Society (ACNS). She also serves as a member of the AAN Anti-Epileptic Drugs Efficacy and Safety Guideline Committee.

About Me

Amanda R. Burden, MD is Professor of Anesthesiology, Vice Chair and Vice Chief of Faculty Affairs, and Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Her research and publications address the use of simulation to explore a range of physician education, teamwork, healthcare quality, and patient safety issues, and received an Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) Safety Scientist Career Development Award as well as funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. She has been an invited speaker at national and international anesthesiology meetings as well as at the United States Department of Education and White House Office of Science and Technology to discuss patient safety strategies and simulation education.

Dr. Burden practices anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. Her clinical focus is critically ill adults and children. Working with a diverse team, she built and directs a successful multidisciplinary interprofessional simulation program and laboratory. Dr. Burden serves as Editor-in-Chief of American Society of Anesthesiologists Simulation-Based Education Editorial Board.

About Me

Richard Byrne, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU). He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical school (Camden campus). He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Cooper, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Byrne has worked in various roles in both undergraduate and graduate education. He contributed to the development of the fourth year Emergency Medicine Clerkship curriculum and has served as faculty advisor to the Emergency Medicine Interest group. In his role as Assistant and Associate Residency Director he designed and implemented a high-fidelity simulation and procedural education curriculum as well as a modern didactics curriculum. Dr. Byrne also works as an editor on the Cooper EM Residency educational FOAMed website EMDaily.

His research interests are in the fields of medical education and resource utilization in the Emergency Department. He has lectured regionally and nationally on a variety of topics including airway management and cognitive bias in medical decision making. Dr. Byrne’s primary passion is in the clinical education of medical students and residents in the Emergency Department.

About Me

John Cafaro, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Cooper Medical School at Rowan University. He currently serves as the Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director. Dr. Cafaro graduated from Rutgers University summa cum laude in 2011. He received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2016. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Cooper University Hospital, where he was recognized as the Emergency Department’s Outstanding Resident of the Year. Dr. Cafaro’s primary passion is clinical education of medical students and residents in the Emergency Department. Dr. Cafaro enjoys leading didactics and white board cases as well as procedural and simulation cases. He also has an interest in modern delivery of medical education. Dr. Cafaro works as an editor on the Cooper emergency medicine residency educational FOAMed website, EMDaily.

About Me

Merin F. Campbell, PsyD, earned her doctoral degree in psychol­ogy and certificate in clinical neuropsychology at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology within the department of neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She conducts comprehensive outpatient neuropsychological evaluations, inpatient consultations, and individual psychotherapy sessions. Although Dr. Campbell primarily sees adults and older adults with neurological condi­tions such as dementia, movement disorders, epilepsy, TBI, tumor, stroke, and MS, she is also a certified school psychologist and experienced with pediatrics and adolescents. She is particularly interested in the role of neuropsychology in neuro-interventional and neurosurgical procedures such as Wada and intraoperative brain mapping.

About Me

Joseph V. Campellone, MD, is the Program Director for the Neurology Residency Program. He has been with Cooper University Health Care since 1996. He is medical director of the Electromyography Laboratory, and is board-certified in neurology, neuromuscular disease, and electrodiagnostic medicine.

As a professor of neurology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU), Dr. Campellone has great interest in education. He was previously the director of the neurology clerkship for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and for CMSRU. He was a recipient of the UMDNJ Foundation “Excellence in Teaching” award. He is a small group facilitator for Scholar’s workshop and M3 Director at CMSRU.

Dr. Campellone has authored numerous manuscripts, presented at national and local meetings, and has reviewed for several medical journals. A member of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Campellone has served on several committees for the American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine. Dr. Campellone has a particular interest in myasthe­nia gravis, neuropathy, and other neuromuscular diseases, as well as electrodiagnosis.
