How to Apply

Application

Thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Residency Program at Cooper University Health Care. Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and all information is processed through this system without exception.  Information regarding the ERAS application process and timeline is available on the Association of American Medical College website, which is listed below for convenience.

Applications are reviewed holistically by our Program Director and Application Committee members. We encourage all interested medical school graduates to apply for our program.

ERAS applications must contain the following information in order for your application to be considered:

  • ERAS Application Form
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Medical School Transcript
  • A Minimum of Three Recommendation letters
  • Dean’s letter (MSPE)
  • Personal statement
  • USMLE Transcripts: STEP reports (1, 2 and/or 3) or COMLEX reports (1, 2)

Primary Care Track Applicants: In addition to above, applicants interested in the Primary Care Track should submit a short paragraph summarizing their interest in primary care.  When ranking the primary care track, you will need to use the separate program number for that track.

International Medical Graduate Applicants:

  • Cooper University Health Care accepts J-1 visas
  • For certification requirements, please visit the ECFMG website.

Virtual Interviews and In-Person Visits

The program will conduct all interviews virtual, as recommended by the AAMC and APPD.  Cooper will offer open house opportunities to visit the campus separate from the program.  These visits are strictly optional (the program will not be notified of your visit).
